DEAR AJC MEMBERS - after an excessively long wait we finally received the decision from the chair of our conciliation panel.
As we indicated in our November 28th update, our first bargaining session with Treasury Board since the conciliation decision, was scheduled on December 17th and 18th.
At long last, our hearing took place on October 25th 2017 as scheduled before a panel of three “conciliators” who will make a binding decision that will be constitute our arbitral award.

The AJC has formally requested a change to switch from conciliation/strike route to "binding conciliation" for the current round of collective bargaining.
Treasury Board has promised to provide their wage comparability study to the negotiation team for review by the end of October 2016.
The AJC negotiations team met with Treasury Board negotiators on Wednesday in a resuscitated effort after the AJC protested Treasury Board's unilateral decision to cancel bargaining.
The AJC negotiations team met with Treasury Board negotiators on December 19 and 20. Some progress was made on technical changes and minor issues.
Our mediation session with the conciliation panel was held last Wednesday and it was regrettably unproductive.
As you know, on December 20th 2016, Treasury Board (TB) rejected our proposals on pay and on compensatory leave and made no counter proposals.
